The task was to design an autonomous vehicle for firefighters. After finalizing our research the team concluded that pivoting to a remote controlled robot would be the safest and most practical thing for the firefighters. The area that firefighters need the most help is in industrial fires where it is too dangerous to enter the building and it is left as a controlled fire.
During our ideation the team developed ideas to protect the robot from falling debris and means of moving obstacles out of the way. The final design is a robot with wings protecting the CAT treds as well as a battering ram that can move debris out of the way.
